Patrick, Nevada : ウィキペディア英語版 | Patrick, Nevada Patrick is an unincorporated community which was the site of a historic ranch. The founder of the ranch, Patrick McCarran, arrived in Nevada in 1858 as a member of the United States Army under General Winfield Scott Hancock. In 1862 McCarran claimed of land that would become McCarran Ranch and the unincorporated community of Patrick. Patrick's son, Pat McCarran, would go on to become Nevada's first native born U.S. Senator and a staunch anti communist. At the present time, only 2 of the original McCarran Ranch structures remain, and the majority of the 2,600 acres has been developed into the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. The remaining portions of the ranch and the community consist of private residences and a nature preserve. ==Geography== The community is located along Interstate 80 approximately east of Sparks, Nevada in Washoe County. Flanking Patrick to the north and south are the Pah Rah and Virginia Ranges, through which the Truckee River flows.
